Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide End-of-Life Care: Conduct end-of-life discussions with sensitivity, reflecting an understanding of the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of death and dying.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work collaboratively with all team members to ensure complete hand-off of information and provide support to other staff as needed.
  • Supervise and Educate: Supervise Hospice LPNs and C.N.A.s as assigned, and may supervise hospice volunteers and students from approved schools.
  • Travel and Flexibility: May be asked to provide care at other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs and may be required to travel in adverse weather.

Requirements:
  • Education and Licensure: Graduate of accredited Registered Nurse Program and currently licensed as Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia or approved compact state.
  • Experience: One (1) year experience in hospice, home health, oncology, or medical surgical nursing required.
  • Additional Requirements: Must have valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and personal vehicle for making home visits, and must obtain/maintain AHA BLS-HCP.
