Key Responsibilities- Provide Patient Care: Deliver direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations, utilizing unique knowledge and skills to contribute to perioperative patient outcomes.
- Communicate with Surgeons and Anesthesiologists: Continuously communicate and collaborate with surgeon(s) and the anesthesiologist regarding the patient's condition.
- Maintain Surgical Equipment: Assist with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory, ensuring that operating room equipment is available and functioning.
- Respond to Emergencies: Respond appropriately to the patient in an emergency and physically distressful situation.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately document patient information, including intra-operative notes and graft tracker.
- Participate in Performance Improvement: Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Experience: Two (2) years recent RN experience in surgery in an Acute Care setting OR completion of an approved perioperative training program (Periop 101/OR Residency Program) in the last year.
- Licenses/Certificates/Credentials: Current California Registered Nurse License, Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA certified), Certification in specialty preferred.
Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and bloodborne diseases. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness). Emergency and crisis situations. Subject to irregular hours. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances, anesthetic gasses and biohazards.
