About the Role

Globe Life Inc. is seeking an experienced Sr. Data Modeler to join our team. As a key member of our data analytics team, you will be responsible for delivering cross-functional models utilizing data analytics platforms that create strategic and transformational value for our clients, members, and Globe's core business units with next gen data technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a data-centric organizational environment that empowers data across citizen data users and visualization creators within the organization.
  • Work closely with Data Engineering to provide business requirements, data analysis, and analytics direction.
  • Build strong partnerships with business product line leaders to transform and grow Globe's analytical capabilities, enable self-service, and develop new insights.
  • Harness prior experience in data visualization and relevant methodologies to spearhead innovation in this area and bridge the gap between data and decision analytics.
  • Package and present recommendations to the executive leadership team through a combination of qualitative and quantitative feedback.
  • Provide regular, automated reporting assets that enable effective storytelling and power self-service decision making across the organization.
  • Champion an inclusive and diverse analytics mindset to attract a deep and diverse talent pool within the organization, including effective coaching and development.
  • Define the strategy for analytics capabilities, including business architecture, processes, sub-capabilities required, and target state.
  • Socialize and build awareness of analytical capabilities across the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience building and maintaining BI applications and data management processes.
  • At least 5 years of Cloud and Erwin experience, combination of network configuration, administration, and creator experience preferred, but not required.
  • Building applications on a cloud-native microservices architecture.
  • Experience developing complex statistical modeling for clinical program evaluation and estimating impacts of various programs, interventions, and strategies on key clinical and business outcomes.
  • Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles, with special exposure to JIRA, GitLab, and Jenkins.
  • Familiar with large-scale architecture design.
  • Knowledge of RPA and ability to implement process automation in analytics.
  • Deep understanding of data, business intelligence, and decision analytics, including full life-cycle development.
  • Experience with agile development tools, including Jira.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels within the organization.
  • Financial service acumen and/or experience to lead large cross-functional initiatives and work with matrix teams.
  • Ability to accurately determine length and difficulty of tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with remote teams.
  • Delivery of high-quality strategic large-scale projects.
  • Self-directed, effective at prioritizing tasks, managing time, organizing people, and getting things done.
  • Exceptional influencing skills with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate a compelling vision and inspire others to deliver on an ambitious, complex, global roadmap.
  • Deep knowledge of probability distributions.
  • Deep statistical foundation and knowledge of statistical learning theory.
  • Mastery in data transformation methodologies, including SQL, scripting Python.
  • Experience with common machine learning methods for descriptive and predictive applications.
