Job Summary

Through the Looking Glass is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will provide developmental consultation to staff at Oakland Head Start/Early Head Start programs, assess and intervene with children under the age of five years, and support quality interaction and relationships between infants or children and parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developmental Consultation: Provide expert guidance to staff on developmental best practices and strategies to support children with disabilities.
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized intervention plans to promote healthy development in children under five years old.
  • Parent-Child Interaction: Support and enhance the relationships between infants or children and their parents, promoting a strong foundation for future development.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other TLG and community providers to coordinate intervention and ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrate respect and understanding of cultural and disability differences in a diverse community.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Master's degree in occupational therapy, with a California OT License and experience working with children with disabilities.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual, bi-literate preferred, with ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using computers for assessments, reporting, and progress notes.
