About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development
    • Perform CAD manipulation, finite element mesh development, and CAD surfacing, manipulation, and meshing of geometries for use in analytical codes.
    • Work with all aspects of the Electromagnetic (EM) Low Observables (LO) design cycle; from concept design, requirements definition, multidiscipline trade studies and analysis, to detailed engineering design, up to prototype fabrication and testing.
  • Customer Support
    • Provide direct engineering support for customers and end-users.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work independently as well as with a team to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Science and/or Engineering with at least 4 years of related experience or Masters with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Security Clearance
    • Must have a Secret Security Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Must have experience with all aspects of the design cycle; from concept design, requirements definition, multidiscipline trade studies and analysis, to detailed engineering design, up to prototype fabrication and testing.
    • Must have excellent computer skills, with experience using SolidWorks or Ansys.
    • Must be proficient with basic hand and shop tools for the purpose of test article preparation and/or prototype development.
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Must have the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
    • Must have excellent problem solving skills, and must be meticulous, organized, responsible, and self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
    • Must thrive in fast-paced environment.
    • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Background in Physics, Mathematics, and/or Electrical Engineering. Advanced degree is a plus.
    • Working knowledge of composite materials, Additive Manufacturing, adhesives, coatings, etc.
    • Programming experience, C/C++, Visual Basic. Aptitude and desire to perform programming for the purpose of data manipulation and processing.
    • Proficiency in Geometry, Trigonometry, and Linear Algebra.
    • Familiarity with computational electromagnetic (CEM) methodology.
    • Experience with MS Office.
