Job Summary

We are seeking a Recreation Advisor to join our team at Hawaii Job Corps Center. As a Recreation Advisor, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive and diversified program that will attract voluntary participation from students. You will work closely with the Recreation Supervisor/Coordinator to ensure that the program meets the needs of all students and provides a safe and enjoyable environment for them to engage in extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive and diversified program that will attract voluntary participation from students.
  • Organize, direct, and oversee student participation in a variety of recreation/avocation activities and extended day learning activities.
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation from students.
  • Chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center.
  • Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students' needs.
  • Participate in Career Development Services System (CDSS) by creating positive peer leadership and role modeling techniques through activities both on and off center.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year experience working with youth required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Computer proficiency.
