Fire Protection Instructor

Job Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a Fire Protection Technician Instructor to join our team. As a Fire Protection Technician Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering instruction and facilitating student learning in our Fire Protection Associate Degree program.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver curriculum for Fire Protection courses.
• Prepare and facilitate learning in the classroom, using a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
• Maintain student records and documentation, and submit grades in a timely manner.
• Provide feedback to students to ensure continued growth and development.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
• Assist with student recruitment and promote the College's programs and services.
• Promote retention and student success through referrals to College services and resources.
• Engage in internal and external College meetings and activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required, and willingness to obtain a Master's Degree from an accredited program.
• Two years of paid work experience, within the past five years, related to the program being taught.
• Certification as a Fire Instructor Level 1, and current certification as a Firefighter II, Driver/Operator-Pumper, and Fire Officer.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with Tanker endorsement required, and valid Federal medical card or willingness to obtain within six months of hire.
• Certification with the National Registry as an Emergency Medical Technician required, and Paramedic preferred.
• Fire Inspector Certification, or ability to obtain within the first year.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification as an NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor Level II.
• Emergency Medical Services Instructor Level II licensure.
• Certification with the National Registry as a Paramedic.

Benefits:

Moraine Park Technical College offers a competitive salary range of $62,269-$77,836, pending board approval. This position is funded by the Developing Markets grant through June 30, 2025, and will be funded annually thereafter.

Work Environment:

This position is open campus, with flexible scheduling required to include evenings and weekends. Travel to MPTC campus locations other than the base location, and/or client/contract work sites may be required.
