Job Summary

Rogers Behavioral Health is seeking a skilled Experiential Therapist to join our team. As an Experiential Therapist, you will develop and implement experiential therapy programs for patients, utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Programming:

  • Design and lead experiential therapy sessions, incorporating activities such as adventure-based and environmental activities, sports, dance, group initiatives, arts/crafts, music, outdoor activities, art media, psychodrama, horticulture, and ropes and challenge course.
  • Evaluate patient needs and develop individualized therapy plans to meet those needs.
  • Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure seamless program implementation.

Documentation and Treatment:

  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive treatment plans and evaluations.
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with Rogers Behavioral Health policies.

Patient Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of psychosocial functioning and common diagnostic categories, as well as their relationship to patient behavior.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques and least-restrictive measures to maintain patient safety.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, while maintaining professional boundaries.

Education and Training:

  • BS/BA degree in a relevant field, such as art, music, dance, recreation, or therapy, is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Certification or registration through a relevant credentialing board is preferred.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR or American Red Cross Professional Rescue certification is required within 30 days of hire, with annual re-certification.
  • Formal training in management of aggressive patients is required within 60 days of hire, with annual re-certification.
