Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Management Business Solutions. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and related chemical substances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures, including PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanners.
  • Operate and perform quality control of stationary and portable scintillation equipment, including gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices, and ancillary equipment.
  • Administer CT Contrast Media, acquire and reformat images, and perform necessary scans and procedures to aid in scanner qualification for research trials.
  • Create and program study-specific protocols, including administration, imaging, and reformatting, under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor and Medical Director.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide quality patient care and timely throughput of patients.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current and active State of California CNMT License.
  • Current and active NMTCB and/or AART (N) licensure for Nuclear Medicine.
  • Minimum one year, full-time experience working as a CNMT.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and the principles of ALARA.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to provide on-call/call-back service as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year, full-time experience performing Nuclear Medicine procedures.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
