Position Overview:

As a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) with ACI Federal, you will play a crucial role in delivering empathetic care to elderly individuals across various healthcare environments, including nursing homes and rehabilitation centers.

Under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs), you will be essential in promoting the physical and emotional well-being of our patients, enhancing their quality of life through attentive support and companionship.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist elderly patients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and eating.
  • Facilitate patient mobility by safely transferring them in and out of beds, chairs, or wheelchairs.
  • Monitor vital signs and promptly report any changes or abnormalities to the nursing staff.
  • Document patient conditions and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering meaningful connections with patients and their families.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and facility policies to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that effectively meet patient needs.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in geriatric care and dementia management.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved geriatric nursing assistant training program is preferred.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or relevant experience as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

Physical stamina and flexibility are essential for performing tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Basic knowledge of medical terminology, infection control practices, and safety regulations is also necessary. You should be able to work collaboratively within a team environment and adapt to changing priorities, with flexibility in scheduling, including rotating weekends and holidays.


Position Requirements:
  • Active CNA License and GNA certification required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Immunization for defined illnesses and diseases.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk or run for extended periods.
  • Capacity to stand for long periods.
  • Flexibility to bend or twist the body and perform repetitive movements.
