About the Role | Manufacturing Technician

The primary responsibility of a Manufacturing Technician involves assembling, testing, fitting, and disassembling various assemblies or sub-assemblies. This includes components such as main steam turbines, valves, gears, generators, pumps, compressors, and conducting experimental work, part modifications, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and follow both written and verbal work instructions, utilizing detailed part and tool schematics.
  • Prepare workstations and machinery to execute assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Gather necessary tools, fixtures, and relocation equipment to perform tasks.
  • Adhere to established operational protocols for assembly, machining, balancing, riveting, and more.
  • Work with precision, ensuring close tolerances on interrelated dimensions.
  • Assess work requirements, noting dimensions, tolerances, tools, and operations needed.
  • Determine inspection needs to verify fits and clearances before, during, and after assembly.
  • Notify inspectors as necessary and document dimensions or characteristics as required.
  • Operate manual and programmable riveting machines, pressure washing, blast cleaning, and heating equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in operating material handling equipment and setting up/operating assigned machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and process documentation.
  • Experience with various tools and equipment, including lathes, drill presses, mills, riveting machines, presses, surface grinders, and hand power tools.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be a Sole US Citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOD security clearance.
