The Clinical Nurse Supervisor for Inpatient Behavioral Health will oversee clinical operations during their shift and engage in planning responsibilities across all shifts.
In collaboration with the Inpatient Nurse Manager and Administrative Director, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor will serve as a clinical resource and leader for the nursing staff.
This role involves allocating resources, including staff and supplies, to effectively meet the needs of the Inpatient Department.
Reporting directly to the Inpatient Nurse Manager, this position functions in a clinical capacity to support nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Making daily nursing assignments, including meal and break schedules, and facilitating appropriate referrals.
- Supervising and delegating tasks to unlicensed personnel as necessary.
- Collaborating with Nurse Managers and Educators to uphold core competencies required for nursing staff.
- Adjusting staffing levels based on patient care needs and collaborating with Clinical Supervisors to optimize patient flow.
- Ensuring safe, quality patient care is consistently provided.
- Conducting narcotic counts and ensuring compliance with safety checks on medical equipment.
- Preparing patient assignments for the incoming shift and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Providing leadership and support to Department staff in a coaching manner.
- Addressing patient complaints and facilitating service recovery.
- Participating in process improvement initiatives and reinforcing new policies.
- Mentoring and serving as a clinical resource for both new and experienced staff.
