Job Summary and QualificationsIn collaboration with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse (RN) is accountable for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating treatment plans to achieve the objectives of the Critical Care Nursing Department . You play a vital role in the interdependent team and are responsible for attaining positive patient and departmental outcomes.
Responsibilities in this role include:
- Understanding patients with critical conditions and ventilator management. You will respond to emergency situations within the facility and initiate protocols, special procedures, and cardiac monitoring.
- Managing the efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for examinations, providing general nursing care, and coordinating testing and admissions.
- Educating patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
- Maintaining and reviewing patient records, including documenting tests and examination results.
- Administering medications according to physician orders.
- Conducting daily checks of rooms for necessary supplies.
- Responding to and directing incoming telephone inquiries (may include phone triage when necessary).
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice and/or possess an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- Previous experience as an acute care Registered Nurse is preferred.

This is a Full-Time, Night Shift position. Shifts are 12 hours in length (approximately 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
Rotating Weekends and Holidays are required.
