Job Summary:

As a Veterinary Emergency Specialist at Integrity Placement Group, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to animals in emergency situations. This role requires a strong foundation in veterinary medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer medical questions over the phone and provide guidance to pet owners.
  • Conduct physical examinations of animals, gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and physical exam.
  • Complete a diagnosis of each pet's condition to create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan.
  • Communicate diagnosis and treatment options directly with customers.
  • Prescribe medications and follow all legally required drug protocols.
  • Perform minor and major emergency surgeries.
  • Educate customers on after care and preventative measures where appropriate.

Requirements:
  • Have earned a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
  • 1 year of emergency or managing critical care cases preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with exotics is preferred, but willingness to treat exotics is required.
  • Basic computer skills to use practice management, electronic medical records, and collaboration software.

Work Schedule:
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital demands. 156 shifts a year (usually 3 per week – 12-13 per month).

Compensation:

DVM Base:
$160k + 22% production bonus (bringing home $200k-300k a year). 100% CE – they will cover as much as you want to do (online or in person) and $3,500 towards CE travel.
