We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Insight Global. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and developing software packages to meet system requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Design, test, and develop software packages to meet system requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and maintain software and scripts to support embedded software development and processes.
  • Technical Leadership: Influence embedded software development processes and provide technical leadership to development teams.
  • Requirements Definition: Apply expertise in embedded systems to define requirements and develop embedded software designs recognizing limitations of target hardware platforms.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Author technical reports and presentations for projects of moderate-to-high complexity.
  • Team Collaboration: Compile report input from other researchers and prepare final report deliverables.
  • Proposal Development: Lead and/or contribute to white papers and proposals.
  • Development Oversight: Provide technical leadership to development teams and verify managed developers are following embedded development processes.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Military Systems Development: Develop software for Military embedded systems applications.
  • Software Requirements: Develop software requirements and design.
  • Coding Standards: Develop software using approved coding standards and processes.
  • Estimation and Planning: Provide software development estimates.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure software is developed to meet military, safety, and security standards.
  • Technical Presentations: Create and deliver technical presentations.
  • Sponsor Liaison: Act as the software technical focal to sponsors for assigned projects.
Requirements
  • Software Engineering Experience: Experience developing software for complex military systems using disciplined approaches.
  • Programming Languages: Software engineering experience with developing in languages such as C/C++ and/or Ada.
  • Real-Time Software: Experience developing real-time software.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and over 9 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance.
  • Integrated Systems Experience: Experience developing software for integrated electronic warfare and/or sensors systems.
  • Secure and Safety-Critical Systems: Experience with development of secure and/or safety critical systems.
  • Avionics Data Buses: Experience with avionics data buses (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Ethernet, RS-422, etc.), tactical data links, military radios.
  • Avionic Systems: Experience developing avionic systems on military aircraft.
  • Military Relevant Standards: Experience with military relevant open software standards and frameworks.
  • Technical Team Leadership: Experience leading small to mid-sized technical teams.

Salary is based on level of education and experience, with a range of $160K-$210K.
