Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of patient care under the clinical guidance of Registered Nurses.
  • Direct and guide patient teaching activities commensurate with education and demonstrated competencies.
  • Assess the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients in the healthcare unit and housing unit.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment programs in collaboration with Registered Nurses, physicians, and correctional officers.
  • Administer medications and interventions as per provider instructions.
  • Document nursing encounters, patient response, and effectiveness, and communicate information to supervisory personnel and physicians.

Requirements

The following requirements are necessary to qualify for this position:

  • Current, unrestricted New Mexico Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) License.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience; correctional experience preferred.
