**Job Summary**

Intuitive is seeking a highly skilled Assembly Technician 4 to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations team, you will be responsible for assembling a variety of products, meeting quality and productivity goals, within a controlled manufacturing environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assemble a variety of products according to standard work instructions and prints.
  • Operate and set up production equipment/fixtures as needed.
  • Become proficient at multiple assembly tasks while meeting requirements for workmanship, safety, and productivity.
  • Perform preparation work such as line clearance and changeover.
  • Perform inspection of own and other's work, and perform simple repairs as needed.
  • Cross-train or mentor others in areas of expertise as needed.
  • Properly complete manufacturing documentation, including initiating basic material requests and reporting quality issues.
  • Maintain the accuracy of identification and count of point-of-use materials, and accurately establish and report material shortages.
  • Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety, and production policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be an Intuitive Surgical employee in good standing for at least the past nine months or must have at least three years of applicable experience with complex mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, supervisors, or engineers.
  • Mathematical skills, including ability to add and subtract multi-digit numbers, multiply and divide, find averages, percentages, and ranges.
  • Ability to apply common sense knowledge to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to understand basic material flow from the stock room to finished goods, Bill-of-Material structure, and cycle counting procedures.
  • Ability to report quality issues and suggest simple process improvements.
  • Ability to use personal computers as part of daily work, and use systems (Agile/SAP) to check drawings, BOM structures, procedures, training records.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Recommended tenure as an ISI Tech 3 for 24 months.
  • Demonstrate leadership and communication ability.
  • Certified to any product testing station, and demonstrate a good knowledge of basic troubleshooting and error-log review.
  • Certified MPIs which total 25 hours or greater for average reference build times.
  • Meet the I&A Training Points of 24 or more.
  • Certified to IPC (Rework tech).
  • Employee Evaluator score of >26.4 for the past 12 months.
  • Qualified as an Acting Lead for a minimum of 6 months.
