Job Summary

USA Millwork is seeking a highly skilled Senior Millwork Engineer to play a key role in the production of high-quality drawings for the shop floor. As a member of our engineering team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with Production and Project Management on project statuses and updates.
  • Follow up with team members on project deadlines and upcoming projects.
  • Communicate with production on specific needs or issues with current work and provide advanced notice of any obstacles or scheduled dates that may be missed.
  • Work closely with the Operations and Engineering teams on conflict resolution to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Stay up to date with field conditions and update drawings for fabrication accordingly.
  • Maintain an understanding of all materials and hardware used to manufacture the approved scope of work.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Microvellum to prepare drawings for production release and release to subcontract vendor fabrication.
  • Review all work prior to release.
  • Review sub-contractor drawings for submittals.
  • Assist team members with questions and issues.
  • Manage material take-offs for ordering/pulling inventory.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Wood Technology, Mechanical Engineer, or related field.
  • 5-10 years' experience in architectural millwork, custom wood manufacturing, or a similar industry.
  • Knowledge of Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) Standards.
  • Familiarity with Microvellum Toolbox.
  • Excellent AutoCAD millwork drafting skills.
  • Experience with CNC manufacturing.
  • Experience with millwork production methods and fabrication techniques, and Materials.
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Able to read and interpret architectural drawings/blueprints.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
