Job Summary

The Pediatric Therapeutic Services Director is responsible for the leadership and development of the Child Life program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child development and life principles, with experience in coordinating phases of assessment, education, and therapeutic needs of hospitalized children. Key responsibilities include orienting hospital staff to psycho-social needs, collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and advocating for patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs and plans activities of the Child Life program.
  • Develops and manages budgets for the program.
  • Manages quality improvement processes for the program.
  • Promotes the Child Life Program by establishing a philosophy for the service.
  • Prepares and executes individual plans of care for pediatric patients.

Requirements and Preferences:
  • Education: Preferred Master degree; Minimum Bachelor's degree in child development, child life, psychology, or related field.
  • Training: Minimum completion of a Child Life Specialist Internship.
