Job Summary:

As a CDL Class A Delivery Driver with Performance Foodservice, you will play a critical role in delivering food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner. Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely responses to questions and concerns.
• Function as a team member within the department and organization, performing duties as assigned to best serve the company.
• Perform all required safety checks, including pre- and post-trip inspections, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
• Report all safety issues and/or repairs required, and follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight, and perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a legible fashion, and move tractors to loading docks and attach preloaded trailers as needed.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedules, and unload products from trailers and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
• Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures, and collect money (cash or checks) where required.
• Load customer returns onto trailers and secure trailer doors, and ensure that tractors, trailers, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns, and bring them to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork.
• Complete daily records of hours of service and enter them in logs in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in tractors, loading dock areas, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
• Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of shifts, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 12 months of commercial driving experience
• High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent
• Valid CDL A
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Must be 21 years of age
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shifts
