Lincoln Electric, a world-leading manufacturer of arc welding solutions, automated joining, and cutting systems, is seeking an experienced Machinist Technician to join their team in Macomb, MI.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work accurately with various materials. As a Machinist Technician, you will operate multiple machines, determine settings, calculate cut locations, and shape steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, silicon, and other materials.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Determine machine settings and calculate cut locations.
  • Shape various materials using different machines.
  • Select tools and materials for each job.
  • Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations.
  • Position workpieces on drill presses, lathes, or milling machines.
  • Monitor and control feed rates and speeds.
  • Ensure workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled.
  • Regulate temperature as needed.
  • Detect problems by listening for specific sounds.
  • Adjust cutting speed to compensate for harmonic vibrations.
  • Monitor cut accuracy.
  • Replace dull cutting tools.
  • Check workpiece accuracy against specifications.
  • Produce high-quality parts.
  • Determine how automated equipment will cut parts.
  • Determine cutting paths.
  • Convey path, speed, and feed information into machine tool instructions.
  • Use manual and computer-controlled machinery.
  • Write basic programs.
  • Modify programs in response to issues.
  • Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
  • Document actions by completing production time sheets.
  • Achieve organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
