We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the Principal Investigator (PI) and working independently within the scientific framework of the PI's laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Research Design and Implementation: Initiates, interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates research assignments critical to the department's mission.
- Scientific Leadership: Exercises a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive scientific research programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.
- Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Explores subject area and defines scope and selection of problems for investigation through conceptually related studies or series of projects of lesser scope.
- Lab Management: Manages the operations of research/lab for the Principal Investigator by assisting in supervision of research personnel.
- Grant Writing and Proposal Development: Participates in writing grant proposals and assists in development of protocol for the collection and quality of research data.
- Quality Control and Compliance: Ensures timely and accurate completion of research projects. Responsible for research/lab quality control and compliance.
- Communication and Collaboration: Coordinates the activity between various labs, scientific staff, and collaborators. Identifies and resolves problems.
- Knowledge Management: Maintains a thorough knowledge of the advances in specialized fields through attendance of scientific conferences.
- Reporting and Presentations: Contributes to scientific papers and serves as a resource/author/co-author for reports and presentations.
- Committee Participation: Participates in internal committees to help further goals of research projects and bring new expertise to the research program.
To qualify for this position, you must have a MS degree and 2-4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Substantial experience from having completed Post Doc training is preferred, as well as an established record of publications.
