The Senior Technical Consultant will engage in the evaluation of intricate legacy software modules, as well as the development and testing of both new and existing modules for significant updates to legacy systems.


***Remote Work Policy:*** The selected candidate will primarily work remotely, with potential onsite requirements for training and meetings. Adequate notice will be provided for any necessary onsite attendance.


***Equipment Policy:*** The candidate is responsible for collecting their equipment on the first day and returning it on the last day at their own expense.


The organization is looking to fill a temporary contractor role. The chosen candidate will take on the responsibilities of a Specialist, focusing on the analysis of complex legacy software modules and executing modifications to enhance legacy applications.


Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a programmer analyst in corporate or governmental settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in programming methodologies and languages within a mainframe context.
  • Thorough understanding of programming principles, testing, debugging, implementation, and documentation.
  • Proven skills in analysis and design.
  • Exceptional communication abilities (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, planning, and scheduling capabilities.
  • Ability to tackle highly complex challenges.
  • Experience in financial process analysis and modifications.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of collaborating with a diverse team of business, management, and IT professionals.
  • Experience working within large project teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), COBOL, CICS, TSO, JCL, ENDEVOR, SQL, DB2, and VSAM.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with state or county government projects.
  • Background in Enterprise Level Application Development across multiple business areas.
  • At least 1 year of experience in developing web services utilizing COBOL and CICS.
