Job Summary

This part-time position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of resident clothing and facility linens. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens and resident clothing
  • Stock linen closets and carts for nursing units, and return linen barrels to the laundry
  • Deliver clean linens and resident clothing to rooms
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
  • Perform routine equipment cleaning, such as removing detergent build-up in washers and cleaning lint traps
  • Purge stained, torn, or otherwise unacceptable facility linens
  • Ensure punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
  • Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards
Cross-Training

This position will also be cross-trained for housekeeping responsibilities, including:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms, and other areas of the facility
  • Safely mixing and using cleaning solutions and storing them in a secure area
  • Labeling and removing infectious waste bags and containers
  • Ensuring punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts
Requirements
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to be patient and polite
  • Ability to learn operation of washing machines, dryers, and associated equipment
  • Ability to learn infection control techniques
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred

This is a weekend position, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
