Pharmacy Technician Job Description

At Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, we are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare to our diverse community. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in our team, supporting the pharmacists in providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily cart exchanges and restock automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Process nursing messages from Epic in-basket and address pharmacy telephones/window communication in a timely manner.
  • Timely handle dispensing, tracking, and transport/delivery of medications and supplies to appropriate areas.
  • Prepare and restock batch for delivery, report out of stock to Pharmacist and or Buyer, and restock/pick up/delivery of crash cart trays as per policy.
  • Follow Lunch and Dinner coverage schedules as posted, dispense and return Narcotics from Controlled Substance Manager (CSM Vault), and accurately process medication returns and restocking to medication storage areas.
  • Perform basic billing functions, accurately package and prepare medications for dispensing as assigned, and consistently follow Hospital Time and Attendance Policy.
Qualifications:
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Registration/License in the State of Florida required, National Certification (CPhT) preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, hospital experience preferred.
