Position Summary:
The Production Utility role is essential for ensuring the seamless operation of various production lines, including fillers, casers, boxers, tray packers, and bundlers. This position requires adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machinery following established Standard Operating Procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure the availability of necessary raw materials to adhere to the production schedule.
- Maintain a steady supply of raw and packaging materials, utilizing the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for accurate material tracking.
- Monitor production processes to guarantee compliance with quality standards and product specifications.
- Conduct quality checks and testing as directed by the Quality Assurance team or management.
- Oversee job tasks to uphold food safety and quality, promptly reporting any issues to supervisors or the Quality Assurance Department.
- Complete production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Record any downtime related to equipment or personnel issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and interpret written information accurately.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring proper use of equipment and materials.
- Observe safety and security measures, reporting any unsafe conditions.
- Commit to continuous learning and skill development.
- Exhibit punctuality and a willingness to work extended hours when necessary to achieve production goals.
Supervisory Role:
This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must effectively perform essential duties. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with six to twelve months of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Proficiency:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical manuals, and regulations. Capable of writing reports and correspondence, and presenting information effectively to various audiences.
Mathematical Skills:
Proficiency in mathematical concepts, including probability, statistics, and geometry. Ability to apply these concepts to real-world situations.
Reasoning Skills:
Adept at solving practical problems and interpreting a variety of instructions in different formats.
Technical Skills:
Competency in operating a handheld Warehouse Management System scanning device.
Certifications:
Must possess (or obtain within seven working days) and maintain a valid forklift and pallet jack operator's license.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires regular sitting, using hands for handling tasks, reaching, and communicating. Occasional standing and walking are necessary, with the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
Employees may encounter wet or humid conditions and moderate noise levels, with exposure to louder environments in production areas requiring hearing protection.
