Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team at SSM Health. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Diagnostic Procedures
    • Conduct adult and pediatric echo sonography to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics.
    • Record patient test results and report results to physicians.
  • Monitor Patient Comfort and Safety
    • Ensure patient comfort and safety during tests.
    • Alert physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies
    • Maintain adequate supplies and verify all equipment is in proper working condition.
    • Report deficiencies and failures to management.
  • Position Patients and Select Parameters
    • Position patients accurately for diagnostic procedures.
    • Select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Assist in Maintaining a Clean Department
    • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
    • Ensure all areas, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms, are clean and organized.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Echo Sonography academic program graduate.
  • Experience
    • No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant Standing and Walking
    • Constant standing and walking required.
  • Frequent Use of Vision and Depth Perception
    • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent Use of Hearing and Speech
    • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent Use of Hearing to Distinguish Body Sounds
    • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent Lifting and Carrying
    • Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Occasional Lifting and Carrying
    • Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Work Environment

This position is a Day Shift (United States of America) position with a Scheduled Weekly Hours of 36.
