Staff Software Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Development Engineer to join our Product and Engineering team at PitchBook. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting and delivering the next suite of services that power the PitchBook platform.

As a Staff Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining components of PitchBook's services, including backend with aspects of frontend related to architecture (micro frontend patterns).
- Ensuring qualities/non-functional requirements of the platforms and products are defined, measurable, and are continuously evaluated to deliver the right product to our users.
- Documenting architecture evolutions (current state, future state, phasing), communicating architecture, and elaborating with teams.
- Implementing well-designed, testable, and efficient code that meets product requirements, coding standards, performance, scalability, reliability, and the organization's goals and principles.
- Collaborating with other engineers, product managers, and other internal stakeholders in an Agile environment.
- Providing technical guidance and performing architectural reviews with team members.
- Designing and delivering end-to-end initiatives with little to no guidance.
- Defining and participating in processes that improve products using return on experience and root cause analysis of incidents.
- Complex legacy application reverse engineering.
- Supporting the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.
- Participating in various company initiatives and projects as requested.
We are looking for a highly experienced software development engineer with a strong background in cloud architecture, microservices, and domain-driven design. You should have a deep understanding of the team's business domain and be able to shape principles, practices, and capture just-in-time decisions based on trade-off analysis.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including an annual base salary of $215,000-$235,000 and a target annual bonus percentage of 15%. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including physical health, emotional health, and social health benefits.
