The Department of Finance at the Miami Herbert School of Business is in search of a Full-Time Lecturer. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellence in teaching both undergraduate and graduate students across various Finance disciplines. Candidates must possess: a terminal degree in finance or a related discipline; a demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching; and the capability to instruct courses in areas such as finance fundamentals, corporate finance, financial management, and other related fields. Holding a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is advantageous. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities include: instructing 8 courses (24 credits per academic year), delivering lectures, facilitating class discussions, and engaging in other educational activities during scheduled sessions; developing, administering, and grading assessments using suitable evaluation methods; maintaining office hours and offering additional support to students outside of class; calculating and submitting grades for all students; collaborating with the chair and faculty of the Business Technology Department to design coursework or support departmental objectives; adhering to established departmental protocols and remaining current in the field. While research is not a requirement for associated faculty, it is encouraged. Please note that this position is not tenure-track.

ABOUT THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT:

The faculty within the Department of Finance are actively involved in research, with recent publications appearing in a variety of prestigious journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, and Management Science. Department members also participate in the editorial processes of numerous journals and have held positions as Associate Editors and Editors of Financial Management. The department hosts an active seminar series, an internal brown bag series, and the annual Miami Behavioral Finance Conference. Additionally, the department organized the 2013 SFS Finance Cavalcade, coordinated by the Society for Financial Studies. We are proud to have a growing PhD program in Finance and an innovative Master of Science in Finance program.
