Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, monitoring, and reviewing medical concerns, providing nursing care to individuals in our care, and completing required documentation in accordance with regulatory standards. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor medical concerns of individuals in our care
  • Provide routine and emergency nursing care to individuals in our care
  • Complete all required documentation and reports according to program regulations
  • Provide nursing and medical in-services to employees
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurse practitioners on medical issues
  • Train and certify AMAPs and Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Review and act on incident reports
  • Provide on-call telephone coverage and maintain records of calls received
  • Transport and attend medical appointments for individuals in our care
Requirements:
  • Valid NYS License and current registration as a Registered Nurse
  • AAS Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in working with people with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Valid NYS Driver's License required
