Position Overview

Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide support in our clinic. This role is essential in the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program, where you will assist in scheduling and supporting Veterans at various clinical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct X-rays and laboratory tests, coordinating with third-party services for reporting.
  • Perform EKGs and pulmonary function tests (PFTs), with training provided for all staff.
  • Welcome Veterans and guide them to examination rooms.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the facility.
  • Track and report completed and pending examinations to ensure timely submission.

Work Environment

This position operates within a healthcare setting, interacting with patients who may present contagious conditions.

Physical Requirements

The individual in this role must be able to navigate the office environment, accessing necessary resources and equipment.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with completion of a Medical Assistant training program. Certification as a Medical Assistant is highly preferred, and phlebotomy certification is advantageous. A minimum of one year of experience in an outpatient medical clinic or similar setting is necessary.
