Job Summary

The Surgical Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in the Diagnostic Imaging Operations team at Springfield Clinic. This position requires a skilled professional to perform radiographic procedures, utilizing ionizing radiation to produce high-quality images under various conditions. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians to select practical applications and technical factors, ensuring accurate and efficient imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist physicians in selecting practical applications and technical factors for imaging procedures.
  • Operate a C-Arm, ensuring accurate and efficient imaging results.
  • Utilize knowledge of CR/DR/DRX image acquisition and manipulation, including correcting data regarding patient information and image detail in PACS.
  • Stay up-to-date with all procedures and protocols in the Surgery department, Pain Clinic, and Radiology department.
  • Provide orientation and training to new technologists, ensuring a smooth transition into the role.
  • Comply with Springfield Clinic's incident reporting policy and procedures, adhering to OSHA and Springfield Clinic training requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service, adhering to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-approved school of Radiology, with current active certification with the ARRT.
  • Current active registration with the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiography.
  • Current active licensure in Radiology with IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency-Division of Nuclear Safety).
  • CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines, obtained within 30 days of hire.
Working Environment

The Surgical Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, exposed to conditions including exposure to blood and body fluids, tissue, contagious diseases, and/or potentially hazardous materials. The successful candidate must be able to maintain a professional demeanor, working flexible hours based on department needs.
