Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team in the Karim Lab at the University of Southern Mississippi. The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing research projects focused on the arthropod vector-transmitted pathogen Rickettsia parkeri.

• Collaborate with the PI and research team to design and execute scientific research projects
• Conduct experiments using tick cell culture and RNA interference techniques to study vector-host interactions
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and data records
• Write and edit manuscripts for publication, as well as contribute to grant proposals and abstracts

• Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field
• Experience working with ticks and tick-borne pathogens
• Strong background in vector biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology
• Excellent written and communication skills
