The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting advanced space exploration initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert and Systems Integration Lead for the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), a vital component of the Gateway Program aimed at lunar exploration.
- Engage with laboratory staff, partners, and testing stakeholders to ascertain interface and testing requirements.
- Utilize interface expertise to ensure lab design meets necessary specifications and testing objectives.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of lab verification processes and confirm facility readiness for assigned testing.
- Assist in the testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of lab equipment to guarantee compliance with requirements and effective integration.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration procedures, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards.
- Provide assistance to lab personnel and external clients regarding integrated systems and their specifications.
- Continuously evaluate documents, policies, and procedures for future lab configurations.
- Participate in system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
- Foster effective communication and organization to work efficiently within a team environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or a related field is required.
- Proven experience in integrating complex hardware and software systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging capabilities.
- Familiarity with testing principles, tools, and processes necessary for developing test requirements.
- Understanding of common concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware domain, including mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings, and material selection.
- Ability to prepare written documentation and deliver verbal presentations in various meetings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
- Experience with NASA processes is advantageous.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position requires on-site presence.
- Offers a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off.
- Some travel may be necessary.
BACKGROUND CHECKS:

All employees must pass a pre-employment drug screening; some contracts may necessitate participation in periodic random drug and alcohol testing.
