Job Title: Department Manager II

Amcor plc is seeking a highly skilled Department Manager II to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department, including safety, quality, productivity, cost, and culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a safety leader and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Establish and maintain safety, quality, waste, and productivity standards to meet plant goals.
  • Oversee and manage the Performance Control System (PCS) for the department, including establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and leading department meetings.
  • Work with the Plant Leadership team to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Supervise salaried staff, including hiring, terminations, recognition, discipline, training, employee relations, performance management, and salary administration.
  • Ensure that investigations are completed for any injuries, incidents, and near misses, and that follow-up action items are completed in a timely manner.
  • Recommend capital projects and ensure that needs, ROI, and KPIs related to these projects are documented and submitted per Amcor policies.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and environment.
  • Adhere to Amcor values and contribute to a high-performance culture.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
