Position Overview

The Emergency Room (ER) Travel Nurse role at Nemaha County Hospital offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for nurses who thrive in critical care settings and are looking to expand their experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Manage and treat an average of 12 patients daily, focusing on urgent care, strokes, myocardial infarctions, and trauma cases.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a dedicated team of 3 licensed staff members, including 2 RNs and 1 LPN, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in administering common drips such as insulin gtt and pain management, while also handling TPA protocols.
  • Patient Monitoring: Utilize Mindray monitors, with RNs responsible for their own telemetry.
  • Support Staff: Collaborate with 2 techs and paramedics, who assist with patient admissions and care.
Qualifications
  • Certifications: Current BLS certification is required; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in similar hospital settings is essential, with a welcoming attitude towards first-time travelers.
Work Schedule
  • Shifts: Standard shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM, with scheduling preferences considered.
  • Weekend and Holiday Requirements: Nurses may be required to work every other or third weekend and fill in during holiday gaps.
  • Floating: Flexibility to float to Medical-Surgical units as needed.

  • Dress Code: Scrubs of any color are permitted, with no hospital logos allowed.
  • Orientation: A comprehensive orientation program is provided, covering essential IT resources and unit-specific protocols.
