About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Family Support Specialist to join our team at the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services. As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping individuals and families access public assistance programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews with clients to determine eligibility for public assistance programs
  • Gather and review required documentation to support eligibility determinations
  • Participate in training and mentoring programs to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Track processing deadlines and case activity to ensure timely case resolution
  • Identify resources and referrals to support clients
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Administrative work or experience working with the public preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
