About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Associate to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. as a Food Preparation Specialist.

Job Summary

This role involves preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of related work experience and a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
  • Washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
  • Preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
  • Preparing cold foods.
  • Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
  • Testing foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
  • Monitoring food quality while preparing food.
  • Setting up and breaking down work stations.
  • Serving food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
  • Washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.
  • No license or certification required.
Benefits

Marrriott International, Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $25,000 - $35,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. Additional benefits include online training opportunities through the Rouxbe Cooking School and a commitment to non-discrimination on any protected basis.
