Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technician to join our team at Sigma Healthcare Team. As an Interventional Radiology Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and safety during interventional procedures and cardiac catheterization examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform special diagnostic radiographic procedures on designated parts of the body as required by physician orders
  • Select proper exposure factors for radiographic equipment for each examination
  • Determine appropriate equipment for use, i.e. pressure injectors, pressure monitor, mapping system, other imaging equipment
  • Utilize protective shielding, immobilization and supportive devices when required
  • Assume responsibility for care and safety of patients while they are undergoing interventional procedures in the labs
  • Assist Radiologists/Cardiologists during special procedures and cardiac catheterizations
  • Provide emotional support to patients and keep them informed regarding what they will experience during the procedure
  • Participate in the instruction of AS and BS students rotating through department
  • Prepare digital images for providers outside of the Eskenazi Health system
  • Maintain supplies required for radiographic rooms, such as contrast media, pharmaceuticals, etc.
  • Keep rooms adequately stocked, and equipment clean; adhere to infectious control policies in maintaining a semi-sterile environment
  • Prepare equipment to be sent to CSR for sterilizing procedures (i.e., wrapping, cleaning, labeling)
  • Prepare procedure trays for interventionists prior to all exams
Requirements
  • Graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program required; Bachelor's degree in Interventional Radiology
  • Bachelor's degree, a minimum of one year previous working experience in interventional radiology or cardiac catheterization, or two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist required
  • AART registered
  • Licensed with the State of FL as a Radiologic Technologist, ARRT IR registered
  • Interventional Cath Lab experience required
  • Current ACLS
