Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Prosecutor to join our team as a Chief Prosecutor in the District Attorney's Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of legal professionals and overseeing the prosecution of complex and high-level felony cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of legal professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective prosecution of cases.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the prosecution process.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful prosecution of cases.
  • Represent the District Attorney's Office in court, presenting complex and high-level felony cases to the court.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively prosecute cases.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and procedures, ensuring the team is aware of any updates or changes.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate and active Kansas license to practice law.
  • At least 8 years of prosecution experience, with a minimum of 25 jury trials, 50 bench trials, or appellate briefs.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in leading teams and developing policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a high level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. The role will also require the ability to handle physical evidence, which may include weapons, biological materials, etc.
