Infection Control Specialist

Parkridge Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Infection Control Specialist to join our team. As an Infection Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control within our hospital. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of infection control principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct ongoing review of policies, procedures, and guidelines to identify infection prevention discrepancies and implement revisions as necessary.
- Provide information to hospital committees and department managers to formulate changes in the policies, procedures, and/or other processes which could reduce the spread of infection.
- Interact with physicians, nurses, department managers, supervisors, and other professional/non-professional staff members to provide resource information, resolve infection prevention problems, and identify new opportunities to improve service and reduce cost.
- Develop effectual policies and procedures for the department and hospital that ensures compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, CMS, and other county, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Direct and assist in preparing reports and statistical data for the infection prevention committee, medical staff committees, medical executive committee, and the facilities administration and other committees as needed.
- Associate Degree (RN) with certification in Infection Control within 2 years of hire or after current position as IP for 2 years.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Current TN RN licensure.
- 1-3 years' experience in a clinical setting.
Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital located near downtown Chattanooga. We offer comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services, including cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. Our hospital features a state-of-the-art neurosurgery program, intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation services. We also have a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and behavioral health treatment centers for children and adults.
