About the Division

The Division of Banking and Financial Institutions is responsible for the supervision, regulation, and examination of state-chartered depository financial institutions, including banks, trust companies, mutual savings and loan associations, and credit unions, as well as non-depository entities such as consumer loan companies, sales finance companies, deferred deposit lenders, escrow businesses, mortgage brokers, mortgage lenders, mortgage servicers, and mortgage loan originators.

Job Summary

The Division is seeking an Information Technology Financial Examiner to perform examinations of both bank and non-bank financial institutions in accordance with established guidelines. The primary responsibilities of this position include preparing accurate, well-documented analyses of IT risk, communicating examination findings to management, and providing guidance to the Division on relative IT risk in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or security, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Five years' experience in financial institution Information Security, IT Governance and Strategy, or IT Auditing.
  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Competencies
  • Laws, rules, regulations, IT security standards, and IT governance processes applicable to the financial services industry.
  • FFIEC IT guidance and IT Sound Practices.
  • Emerging technologies, threats/vulnerabilities, and risk management practices/techniques and its implications to the financial institutions sector.
