Job Title: Probate Paralegal

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Probate Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team at JRG Partners. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Maryland probate law and strong relationships with court personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys in managing probate cases, including drafting and filing petitions, inventories, and accountings.
  • Prepare and review legal documents related to probate, including wills, trusts, and estate planning documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, beneficiaries, and other parties involved in probate cases.
  • Maintain strong relationships with court personnel and other legal professionals to facilitate the smooth processing of probate matters.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on Maryland probate laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage court appearances, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Handle the administration of estates, including asset collection, valuation, and distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with all court deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing case files and maintaining organized records.
  • Assist in the resolution of any disputes or issues that may arise during the probate process.
Qualifications:
  • 3-7 years of experience as a probate paralegal, with a focus on Maryland probate cases.
  • Strong understanding of Maryland probate laws and court procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and use of legal databases.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
