We are seeking a skilled CDL A driver to join our team at Usora Express LLC. As a Contract Driver, you will be responsible for hauling dry van freight on a solo basis, operating a tractor-trailer combination on a regular route.

Job Summary

  • Drive a tractor-trailer combination on a regular route, transporting dry van freight from one location to another.
  • Ensure all cargo is properly secured and loaded to prevent damage or loss during transit.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of hours worked, miles driven, and cargo delivered.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers to ensure smooth operations.

Home Time

You will have the opportunity to stay out on the road for extended periods, but you can also expect to return home at least one weekend per month. After 21 days of work, you will receive 4 days of home time.

Core Responsibilities

  • Inspect the vehicle, equipment, and cargo to ensure everything is safe, legal, and secure.
  • Submit customer paperwork and deposits, including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports.
  • Maintain a driver's log in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Interact with customers and maintain good customer relations.
  • Be available for work at all times to meet customer pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.

Orientation Details

  • We offer paid orientation, which includes accommodation, meals, and some or all travel expenses.
  • During orientation, you will receive your own room and have access to lunch and breakfast.

Hiring Requirements

  • You must have a Class A license without any of the following restrictions: (L,Z) Air Brakes, (G) Night Driving, (O) No Semi Trailer, (K) Intrastate Only or (M) Medical Variance.
  • You must have at least 2 years of experience driving a tractor-trailer combination.
