Job Title: Medical Assistant - Urology

Join our team at Michigan Institute of Urology PC as a Medical Assistant - Urology, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our urology team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our urology team. As a Medical Assistant - Urology, you will be responsible for preparing and managing the daily patient workflow, reviewing patient charts, collecting vital signs, and assisting with procedures such as cystoscopies and biopsies.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and co-workers
  • Manage daily workflow for the urology Nurse Practitioner, including reviewing patient charts and preparing for procedures
  • Ask preliminary exam questions and document patient information accurately in the EMR
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs and summary of patient visits
  • Assist providers with in-office procedures, including cystoscopies and biopsies
  • Timely and accurate completion of lab requests for specimens
  • Obtain prior authorizations for patient medications in a timely manner
  • Prep charts for upcoming patient visits and assist in proper cleaning of all instruments and equipment
  • Annual review and training of OSHA, Waste Management, and Procedure guidelines
  • Assist fellow staff members and substitute, when needed
  • Perform telephone triage, assessment, screening, and patient education, when needed
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or GED; Medical Assistant certificate preferred
  • 1 year of medical assistant office experience demonstrating competency, preferred for those without a MA Certificate
  • LPN 2 years of experience required
  • None
  • Medical Assistant preferred
  • Demonstrates organization, self-motivation, good communication, and interpersonal skills
