Job Description

The Smart Components Division, a business group within ITW’s Automotive segment, is seeking a skilled Electrical and Electronics Sourcing Engineer to drive impact and deliver results. As a member of the Strategic Sourcing Group, you will be responsible for all direct materials purchased, developing partnerships with internal engineering and innovation teams, and suppliers to deliver high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Secure components and/or services in assigned categories to provide competitive advantage in technology and cost for ITW.
  2. Deliver aggressive costing and budget projections, and drive alignment with the leadership team.
  3. Drive change management to continuously improve efficiency, yield, and performance via repeatable processes, people growth, and elimination of work duplication.
  4. Manage category and component supplier relationships, including contractual agreements.
  5. Develop supplier capabilities and drive roadmap visibility.
  6. Manage the supply base end-to-end to ensure continuity of supply with the right materials driving plan in place.
  7. Work with a cross-functional team to drive the supplier selection process and component qualification under engineering and commercial best practices.
  8. Achieve established commitments on total cost results, supply, quality, and compliance adherence, technology roadmap alignment, and on-time delivery.
  9. Present commodity strategies and associated business awards to the divisional leadership team.
  10. Serve as a key escalation channel for continuity of supply risks, tracking commodity shortages, price increases, and other events to ensure supply continuity.
