Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Ventura Foods. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest possible degree of safety for our employees and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintaining OSHA and EPA compliance by planning and organizing training, conducting training, and maintaining training documentation and certifications.
  • Implement and maintain EHS programs, including conducting accident investigations, reporting incidents, and analyzing root causes.
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions in the workplace, conduct daily rounds to audit physical conditions and safe work practices, and provide advice and counseling to employees and contractors.
  • Oversee regulatory inspections, conduct safety and hazardous material inspections, and maintain inspection documents and verifications.
  • Assist with environmental compliance reports, sampling, and inspection mandates.
  • Develop and maintain site awareness and incentive programs, including corrective actions and tracking sustainability and utility reduction projects.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate-degree or equivalent, required.
  • A minimum of one year of EHS experience, preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in training methodologies, curriculum development, and soft skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and motivational skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and motivational training style.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer literate with in-depth knowledge of MS office, web-based systems, and visual aids technology.

Physical Demands
