Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Public Works Department, including the Streets, Stormwater, Sanitation, and Fleet Maintenance divisions.
- Project Management: Manage city infrastructure projects, including procurement, bidding, design, development, coordination, inspections, and budget management.
- Operations and Maintenance: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Public Works Department, including maintenance of streets, stormwater systems, sanitation facilities, and fleet vehicles.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances related to public works and infrastructure management.
- Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain relationships with city officials, community leaders, business owners, and other stakeholders to promote the city's infrastructure management efforts.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a field related to public works management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in public works management, project management, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The work is typically performed in an office setting, with occasional travel to construction sites and other locations. The team member may be required to lift light objects and work in a variety of weather conditions.
Supervisory and Management ResponsibilityThis position has direct supervision over the Public Works Division Manager and the Stormwater Division Manager, with indirect supervision of the Administrative Manager.
