Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Surgical Technician assists the surgical team in the operating room by performing a variety of duties to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Assists the surgical team with patient positioning, draping, and preparing the surgical site.
- Handles and maintains surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assists with patient transportation to and from the operating room.
- Participates in the maintenance of a clean and safe operating room environment.
- Assists with the preparation and maintenance of surgical records and reports.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a surgical technician program or equivalent experience.
- Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (CST) highly desirable.
- One to two years of experience as a surgical technician preferred.
