Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at KCI Telecommunications. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low voltage systems and networking infrastructure within a fast-paced and high-security data center environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cable Installation and Termination: Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling, including Cat5e/6/6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, in data center environments.
  • Network Equipment Installation: Install and mount networking equipment such as routers, switches, patch panels, and firewalls in server racks.
  • Cable Management and Patching: Perform cable management, labeling, and patching, ensuring all work adheres to established standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with low voltage cabling and networking equipment, performing tests and inspections to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with data center engineers, electricians, and other team members to coordinate installations and upgrades.
  • Technical Knowledge: Read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain high standards of safety and security, following all data center protocols and guidelines.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of installations, updates, and repairs performed.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies relevant to low voltage systems and networking hardware.
